Millington Bank Helping to 'Stuff the Bus'

Millington Savings Bank announced it has officially launched its participation in the annual United Way of Northern New Jersey 2012 “Stuff the Bus” campaign.

This marks the sixth year that the bank is collecting donations of school supplies for distribution to needy students from low-income families.

The bank is encouraging the local community to participate in the drive by donating new school supplies to drop-off locations at any of Millington’s five branches.  Supplies will be collected until Aug. 10th

Many items are needed, including backpacks, binders, erasers, pencils/pens, rulers, markers, lunch boxes, construction paper, glue sticks, and scissors.

Susan Schumann, Millington Savings Bank Vice President, stated, “As a community-minded bank, we are proud to give back to our community by helping less fortunate children start the school year with the items they need.  With this donation, we can help prepare them for academic success, which is a stepping stone to greater opportunities for these wonderful kids.”

Donated items will be distributed by the United Way to local elementary and middle schools.

Millington Savings Bank, with assets over $349 million, has a rich tradition of serving customers and the local community since 1911.  Locations are in Millington, Basking Ridge (Riverwalk and Dewy Meadow), Martinsville and Bernardsville. The bank is a member of the FDIC and an equal housing lender. All locations can be reached by calling 908-647-4000. Additional bank information can be obtained by visiting www.millingtonsb.com.
