Millington Savings Bank has officially started collecting warm and fuzzy gifts for children awaiting placement or adoption through its participation in the 4th Annual “Open Your Heart” Pajama Drive.
The collection event begins Dec. 3 and will continue until Dec. 19.
Donations can be brought to the bank’s Millington, Dewy Meadow, Bernardsville and River Walk branch locations.
Working in conjunction withthe Bernardsville Rotary Club, the bank is asking for donations of warm pajamas, books, and huggable stuffed animals for children who have never enjoyed the comfort of having a parent read to them at bedtime and tuck them in for the night. Many of these children have been abused or abandoned and are living in orphanages, shelters and other temporary facilities.
“It is truly a labor of love to gather these comforting items for deserving children in Somerset County,” Susan Schumann, Millington Savings Bank Vice President, said. “Every year we areso proud to participate in this wonderful event and successfully meet our donation goals thanksto the very generous help from our Millington customers, staff and friends.”
