Come Help Finish the Glenhurst Trails Cleanup
It's time to get the trails ready for a new season of hikers.
You Need To Know Food Drives: Everyone's really good about remembering to donate to area food banks during the holidays, but sometimes we forget that for many families, hunger continues through the year—Watchung's Performance Rehabilitation, at 459 Watchung Ave., is helping remind us by holding a food drive this weekend. Bring non-perishable food donations to the office this weekend and help restock the shelves.
You Need To Know About Resources To Help Those With Learning Disabilities: Warren's LearningRX is sponsoring a Learning Disabilities Resources Forum at 9 a.m. today at Stonecrest Community Church, where parents and caregivers can learn about new treatments and options for those with learning disabilities. Come meet with representatives of such service providers as The Comprehensive Autism Medical Assessment and Treatment Center, Arc of Somerset County, Children’s Specialized Hospital, Mt. Bethel Village, Hi-Step Summer Social Skills Program, Bright Star Therapy and Emerald Financial Services and more.
You Need To Know Live Music: Brighten your weekend with live musical performances this weekend. You can enjoy the Michael Craig Band (at Rolf's) or The Wrecks (at the Tap Room) tonight, or the blues stylings of Lew Gatewood (Rolf's) and Lunch Hour Six Pack (at the Tap Room) Saturday. Sal G's also often features live music on the weekends—check their Facebook page for updates.
You Need To Know About Making Book Titles Rhyme: There's a new way to create your poetry: use the titles and words found on the spines of books, and you have "spiny poetry." Students in grades 6 to 12 up to the challenge are invited to the Warren Township Library's program at 2 p.m. Saturday—contact the Youth Services Desk at 908-754-5554, ext. 23, for more information.
You Need To Know Spring Cleaning: Head to the Glenhurst Trails (that's just east of Wagner Farm Aboretum on Mountain Avenue) Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and join in the cleanup effort organized by the Warren Blue Ridge Sportsmen Club and the township. You'll need to bring gloves, boots, water—and bug spray; bags and the trash to fill the bags will be provided.
