Fire Causes 'Severe Damage' To Warren Home
Homeowners were evacuated at the start of the blaze, officials said
Firefighters responded to a “serious” fire that broke out in a home on Dead River Road in Warren Saturday morning, Fire Chief Mike Losapio said .
“It was a long fire, it was bad,” Losapio said of the blaze, which caused “pretty severe damage,” to the home. “The homeowners were evacuated and there were no injuries as a result of the fire,” he said.
All four Warren fire companies, as well as back up units from Liberty Corner, Bernards Township, Basking Ridge, Martinsville and Millington responded to the fire, which Losapio said broke out at about 8:14 a.m. Saturday. Crews were still on scene at 11:36 a.m. “The fire is out, but crews are still in the house investigating what happened,” he said.
Losapio said given the hot weather and severity of the fire, “we knocked it down pretty quickly.”
Red Cross was on scene Saturday, providing assistance to the family, Losapio said.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and is under investigation, officials said.
