Hunters Find Human Remains in Green Brook
Forensic units working to identify remains discovered Sunday.
Two people hunting in a wooded area near Warrenville Road, in Green Brook, discovered a human skeleton Sunday evening at about 6 p.m.
A press release from Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Stuart Buckman and Green Brook Township Chief of Police Martin Rasmussen, said detectives with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Squad and the Crime Scene Forensic Unit are "processing the scene" Monday morning.
The crews were working near the top of the hillside, about 150 feet south of Hamsley Road, on a steep embankment above Warrenville Road. Some passersby said they saw detectives working on ladders on the hillside.
Prosecutor Soriano also said no identification has been made, and detectives are waiting for the state medical exminer to arrive.
One possible case police will likely consider is that of Margaret Haddican, a Warren mother of three who disappeared in October 2006. The FBI conducted a search of the wooded area near Dead River Road in June for clues in the disappearance, but none were found.
A TV program, Investigation Discovery's "Disappeared," took an interest in the case, and will be broadcasting an episode about it in February.

So that is what was going on this morning I dont under stand I was comming down from the top of Warrenville rd about 30% of the way down the hill on the right hand side There was one police car with its lights on and a 30-40 foot ladder laying on the very steep incline Now im no rocket scientist but there is no way there were hunters on that impossable hill with out heavy duty climbing gear 2nd I think your not allowed to hunt with in so little shooting space. Were they trying out some kind of new sport or maybe they know something Its in an area almost impossable to climb Any folks out there with there own twist of what really is happening

Hunting distance for archery is 150ft. Gun is 450ft. Thankfully they were there and found whoever it is. Hope it's not Margret, I remember her as such a nice girl in school.

It doesnt matter what they were hunting with If your from the area and love the out doors I dont know anyone who would even try a spot like that and take a chance of breaking your neck They might as well said they were fishing there It doesnt add up But your right I think it might be that Woman from Warren It is a shame no matter who it is but I tell you one thing that person didnt walk there

It's interesting that Greenbrook and Warren seem to think it's safe to allow hunting in residential neighborhoods. This may well have been a hunting accident. Even if it wasn't, eventually we will have one, seeing as the hunters (typically Warren's Blue Ridge Hunting Club) can and DO hunt on public land surrounded by houses, and very often just outside the 150 ft "legal" distance from our homes. A hunting arrow can kill at OVER 500 ft. I know you think that could NEVER happen here. If the hunters around here are so safe and legal, what were those two hunters doing hunting public land on Sunday? That is illegal in NJ.

Any updates on this story? I search for the missing and the identity of the unidentified deceased. I am interested in gender, approximate height and approximate DOD if possible. I am signed in for updates to this article.

Ilana--The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office has not released any additional information regarding this case. At last check, the Medical Examiner's Office was still conducting its investigation, with no additional information to release.

Thanks John, I appreciate the reply. Would that agency be the Medical Examiner in Somerset County? I checked the NJ State website for current unidentified persons and nothing was nothing listed recently in that county.
