Nominate Watchung Hills' Teacher of the Year
Nominations must be submitted by March 1.
The search for Watchung Hills Regional High School’s Teacher of the Year is now under way, and the community is invited to take part in the process.
Nominating forms may be picked up at the main office of the high school, 108 Stirling Road, Warren, or may be accessed on line on the school website, or printed from the PDF attached to this article. Forms must be returned to the Office of the Principal by Friday, March 1, or e-mailed to email@example.com
In the Watchung Hills Regional High School district, teachers, school nurses and librarians may be nominated by students, alumni, parents, members of the administration, staff members, or other citizens of the four communities comprising the regional high school district: Long Hill, Warren, and Green Brook Townships, and Watchung Borough.
Administrators, supervisors and department supervisors are not eligible for nomination in this program.
Those who are nominated would be persons who: “have high expectations for all students; challenge students to think critically and creatively; differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners; use authentic assessment practices that make learning relevant to the lives of the students; integrate the use of technology.”
Nominees will also “establish a culture for learning in the classroom, and have excellent rapport with students.” They will, in addition,” inspire a love of learning in students and nurture the social and emotional well-being of students.”
Although the Teacher Recognition Program is no longer sponsored or underwritten by the State Department of Education, many districts will support such an effort on its own.
