Plot: Hollywood 1927. George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is a silent movie superstar. He begins to see his fame eclipsed by the rising popularity of talkies. His destiny is intertwined with that of Peppy Miller who begins her career as an extra in one of Valentin’s films, and reaches superstardom herself.
Dujardin won the Oscar for best actor for his performance as George Valentin.
Nominated for 10 Academy Awards, winner of 5, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Leading Actor, Best Costume Design and Best Original Score.
