Warren Library Offers Learning Challenges Session

Program on Wednesday is best for adults who work with children.

The public is invited to the Warren Township Library for a session on "Cognitive Skills: Understanding Learning Challenges," from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the program room at the library building at 42 Mountain Blvd.

In this program, attendees will learn about the seven key brain skills that make learning possible, according to information from the library. The course will provide methods for detecting students with weak skills and tools to help strengthen those skills. Specific strategies will be provided to help teachers apply this understanding in the classroom.

According to the U. S. Department of Education, over 80 percent of learning problems are due to weak cognitive skills, according to the library's website.
