Explore the Lore and Mysteries of Pine Barrens Wednesday Night at Warren Library

Meet author, storyteller and musician Paul Evans Pedersen Jr. for stories and songs, based on the rich storytelling tradition of the Pine Barrens.

"The Legendary Pine Barrens: Stories and Songs," is scheduled to be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the program room of the Warren Township branch of the Somerset County Library, featuring author, storyteller and musician Paul Evans Pedersen Jr.'s program based on the rich storytelling tradition of New Jersey's Pine Barrens.

Preregistration is required, or call 908-754-5554, ext. 64 to check availability. Those who have signed up but cannot make it are asked to call to clear seats for others who wish to attend.
"The Legendary Pine Barrens: New Tales From Old Haunts," is a collection of dark and quirky short stories inspired by South Jersey folklore, according to the library website.

The author introduces a rogue’s gallery of weird and colorful characters in tales that run the gamut from offbeat explanations of natural phenomena, to unconventional takes on popular legends, to strange doings in mysterious Piney towns and taverns. Pedersen puts his unique spin on such legendary local subjects as the immortal Jersey Devil, dancing bandit Joe Mulliner, and the mysterious Blue Hole of Winslow.  

This program is geared toward adults only. No children under 12.
