Holiday Trip to Longwood Gardens this Tuesday
PARK COMMISSION SCHEDULES TRIP TO
THE EXTRAORDINARY LONGWOOD GARDENS
BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center Naturalists have scheduled a spring day-trip to beautiful Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
The trip will leave from the Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, New Jersey on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10:00 A.M., returning at 9:00 P.M. Fee is $55 per adult and $45 per senior and pre-registration is required by calling 908-766-2489 or at www.somersetcountyparks.org. Continental breakfast, van transportation, admission fees, and all interpretation included.
Visitors will combine horticulture, architecture, theatre, and music in a unique holiday experience as the enjoy gardens twinkling with decorative lights, a conservatory full of holiday plants and colors, and watch the fountains move in time to carillon.
Longwood Gardens, with 1,050 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows and over 11,000 types of plants, features rainbows of tulips, pots of marigolds, snapdragons galore, and a five-acre fountain garden!
The Longwood Garden journey is part of the Park Commission Garden Discovery Tour series of day-trips that combine natural history, ecological knowledge, and experience of both the Naturalist and a gardener to maximize education and enjoyment.
