Join the Park Commission on a Trip to the Orchid Show

OIN PARK COMMISSION NATURALISTS AT THE
2014 ORCHID SHOW

BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center (EEC) Naturalists will lead a group on a journey to the New York Botanical Garden for the 12th Annual Orchid Show.

Leaving from the EEC at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, New Jersey on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 9:30 A.M., the adventurers will enjoy a virtual trip to Key West at The New York Botanical Garden’s Orchid Show: Key West Contemporary.

On the final day of winter, take a day’s vacation from the snow and ice and enter the world of colorful tropics for a few hours.  This Orchid Show features the largest orchid exhibition in the nation including 300 types of orchids and 5,000 plants.  Highlights include Vanda (rainbow orchids), Dendrobium (cane orchids), and Cymbidium (Asian corsage orchids) and other rare species in the naturalistic settings of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. 

Fee for the day trip is $55 per adult and $45 per senior. To register or for information call the Environmental Education Center at 908-766-2489.
