July is Eating Disorder Month: No Body is Perfect!

Your body, your rules. Do not let the pressure of society takeover. Eating disorders are present in more than 7 million women and men each year. Of those, 1,000 will die of anorexia nervosa.

Eating disorders are complex and well-known medical illnesses that can ultimately alter your emotional and physical health. Aside from affecting your body, eating disorders cause depression and anxiety. Not giving your body the necessary food intake can cause high/low blood pressure, kidney damage, failed organs, and heart problems.

There are several types of eating disorders, anorexia nervosa being the most popular and deadly. Some additional eating disorders are bulimia nervosa and binge eating.
