PARK COMMISSION OFFERS WINTER YOGA FOR ADULTS

Beginner & Experienced Classes Begin Wednesday, January 15, 2014

NORTH BRANCH, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Recreation Department has announced open registration for the winter session of Classic Hatha Yoga with classes for both beginners and practiced. The low-impact program will introduce adults to the healthful benefits of Yoga and improve on existing skills for those who previously participated.

The 10-week evening program will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning January 15, 2014 at Park Commission Headquarters at North Branch Park, 355 Milltown Road in Bridgewater. Beginner sessions will run from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. with the Advanced session running from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Fee for the beginner session is $80.00 and fee for the experienced session is $100.00.

 

Hatha Yoga is a slow-paced stretching exercise combined with simple breathing exercises and seated meditation. It is a good opportunity to learn basic poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga.

 

Participants are requested to wear comfortable clothing and bring a Yoga mat. Mats will be available for purchase at the first session for a fee of @25.00.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One - Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center, Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridgeand  at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch Park in Bridgewater.  The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
