Join in Warren's Halloween Haunting Fun

Wagner Farm Arboretum's Brite Nites opens tonight.

You Need To Know Brite Nights: Beginning at 7 p.m. will be alight with pumpkins, and the brave-hearted can venture into the Haunted House as part of Brite Nites, running through Oct. 30. Admission is $7, but it helps support the many projects and events at the Arboretum (And if you go in costume, take a picture and send it to our Halloween costume contest—you may help raise a little extra money for Wagner Farms). 

You Need To Know Varsity Sports: The Warriors football team will make its last stand away from home field at Elizabeth High School at 7 p.m. Also playing away will be the girls volleyball team, playing at Ridge at 5:30 p.m. 

The field hockey team hosts a game against West Morris-Mendham High School at 4 p.m.

The cross country teams get an early start in today's Somerset County championship, at noon, and at 6 p.m. the gymnastics team competes in the Skyland Conference Championships at Montgomery High School.  

You Need To Know Fall Fun: Warren's will host a Fall Harvest Festival at 10 a.m. Saturday, a free event with games and activities for everyone, and harvest bounties to enjoy.

You Need To Know About Local Screenwriters: New Providence resident Joe Tiboni penned a movie about high school wrestling titled "Win Win."  Much of the movie, starring Paul Giamatti, was filmed in New Providence and the area—you can see it at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Long Hill Library. It's free—but BYOP (bring your own popcorn).

You Need To Know About Running For A Cause: The Watchung Hills Regional Municipal Alliance will hold a 5K run and walk to raise money for this year's programs aimed at preventing drup and alcohol use at 9 a.m. Sunday. The event starts at Mobus Field, on Brookdale Lane. To join in, register online.
