A Fond Farewell to Mal Plager

Township Committee to honor outgoing committeeman for years of service.

You Need To Know Special Acknowledgements: When the Township Committee convenes its open meeting tonight, after a 6 p.m. executive session, in the Susie B. Boyce Meeting Room, there will be a few special acknowledgements made. First up, the committee bids adieu to longtime member Mal Plager, then a salute to Watchung Hills Regional students Emily Wilson and Austin Pecario, who were featured on Fox TV's "X Factor" program.

You Need To Know Recognized Scholars: High school students who hit the books can be invited to join the National Honor Society—and at 7 p.m. tonight, Watchung Hills Regional's chapter of the society will induct the newest members.

You Need To Know Holiday Parties: Seniors at Warrenbrook Seniors Center will celebrate the season today, with a special party beginning at 10:30 a.m. They'll decorate a tree, dance, and sing favorite songs.
