A Party You Can Join—Even if You Can't be There

Warren's Josh Tankel invites residents to help the Children's Specialized Hospital by joining his un-birthday party.

Josh Tankel is approaching his birthday, and when planning began for his birthday party, he decided he wanted a bigger event—one that could welcome nearly the whole town.

"For my Mitzvah project, I am going to throw an un-birthday party," Josh said. "An un-birthday party is like a birthday party but it is really not celebrating anyone's particular birthday."

Instead, he's aiming at helping raise money for the Children's Specialize Hospital in Mountainside, as well as collect new video games to donate to the hospital.

"It’s going to be a video game party, in which I will be having the 'Game Truck' parked in front of my house, courtesy of the Levey family," Josh said. "The Game Truck has indoor and outdoor large screen TV’s with a variety of age appropriate video games."

For his April 27 party, he'll welcome his guests to join him between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at 7 Woodfield Trail for the games onboard the Game Truck. Admission is just a donation to the hospital, cash or a video game.

"If you can’t make it to the party itself, but would like to send a monetary gift or donate a game to the Hospital, it would be greatly appreciated," he added.

Josh also promises food and drinks for everyone.

"It is sure to be a fun time for all," he said.
