Classic Cars, Music Prove Popular on Hot Night

The night was thick with nostalgia at Watchung Hills.

Rows of vintage and custom cars beckoned the crowd that gathered for Friday's Warren Township Car Cruise and Doo Wop concert at Watchung Hills Regional.

With '50s and '60s music in the background, visitors chatted with the vehicle collectors, watched dancing performers and checked out the offerings from ice cream and Italian ice vendors.

A cooling breeze took some of the edge off the heat, making visitors a little more comfortable while many enjoyed the music and vehicles of their youth.

Performers Shirley Alston Reeves, Larry Chance and the Earls, and Bob Marino and Barbra Lawson were set to take the stage at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
