We've combined our Grab and Go feature with the Get Out for a single combined place to look for things to do and places to go with your family. Check here each week for a quick rundown on area happenings.


Where/When: From 5 to 7 p.m. at  in Madison on Friday, April 8.
Why Go: Because you’re interested in supporting a local author, or picking up a copy of Michael Bronco's "Man School," which focuses on the role that men play in the family.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: At 8 p.m. on Friday, April 8 at the  in Morristown.
Why Go: Because Rosanne Cash, Johnny Cash’s daughter, isn’t just riding her father’s coattails; she has written some great hit songs herself.
Pricing: From $42 to $67, tickets are available online.

Where/When: At 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at the  in Morristown.
Why Go: Because, according to the Community Theatre’s website, Perlman is “undeniably the reigning virtuoso of the violin.” 
Pricing: Tickets range from $75 to $125 and are available online.

Where/When: Saturday, April 9 at 9 a.m. at  in Bernards Township.
Why Go: You can grab your pole and fish for prizes in the newly stocked pond.  Stories of the one that got away are optional.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When:  Participants leave from the  in Basking Ridge at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 to travel to Western New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Why Go: You'll enjoy melting snow as you see as many waterfalls as is possible in one day.  
Pricing: $45 per person for general admission, $35 per senior

Where/When: Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 10  at the the Villagers Theatre in Somerset.  Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m.  Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m.
Why Go: It's a southern slice of life's lessons in friendship and trust.
Pricing: $16 per adult, $14 per senior or student.

Where/When: Saturday, April 9 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Hillsborough.
Why Go: Enjoy great games, prizes, music and food while benefiting the Hillsborough High School Band. 
Pricing: $40 entrance fee. Cash bar available. Must be 21 or over to attend.

GRAB & GO KIDS PLANNER


Where/When: From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the  on Saturday, April 9.
Why Go: The Harmonium Choral Society and the Morristown Neighborhood House Children’s Chorus will perform songs from around the world for free.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: At 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 at the  in Morristown.
Why Go: Because the story of Christopher Robin and Pooh is a children’s classic, and this production is geared toward children ages four through 10.
Pricing: $12, tickets available online.

 
Where/When: Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at  in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: Because you want to impress the bunny with the best colored eggs in the basket!
Pricing: $30.

Where/When: Friday, April 8 at the .
Why Go: To create your own spring kite and catch a spring breeze
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Saturday, April 9 at the  cafeteria in Bridgewater.  Seatings are at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Why Go: It's an Easter extravaganza of games, prizes and a breakfast buffet cooked by culinary arts students. The bunny will hop by for pictures. 
Pricing: $15 for an adult and one child, $5 per additional child.

Where/When: Saturday, April 9 at the Hillsborough Lowes.
Why Go: You can build an awesome sports pinball game to celebrate the start of spring sports. 
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Monday, April 11 at Basking Ridge's Rebel Hill Park at 11 a.m.
Why Go: To enjoy racing around with friends.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When:  Wednesday, April 13 at the  from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Why Go: To support your Japanese peers in the wake of the recent earthquake and tsunami tragedy. Make paper cranes and help rebuild communities.
