County Offers Anti-Bullying Seminar

If the weather holds up, local student athletes will be competing on the golf course, softball and lacrosse fields at Watchung Hills Regional High School. If it doesn't, only the lacrosse team plays.

You Need To Know It's Recycling Day: Bundle your newspapers and magazines, cut down cardboard boxes, and remove caps from plastic bottles. Then, put it all out on the curbside for pickup.

You Need To Know The Right Word: Abbie Sorge returns to the  for Word Fun, a program aimed at helping younger writers discover their writing talents. The program begins at 4 p.m. and is open to all, but please call 908-754-5554, ext. 23, to reserve a seat.

You Need To Know About Bullying: If you've been unable to attend any of the anti-bullying workshops in the area, check with Linnette Higley at 908-203-6131 to see if you can attend the 6 p.m. seminar at the Somerset County Courthouse in Somerville.  Vicinage 13 of the New Jersey Superior Court is presenting this seminar, and will include experts in psychology, law and law enforcement.  A question-and-answer session will follow the seminar. 

You Need To Know About Paying for College: If you got the big, fat envelepe back from your college applications, the next thing to do is head to the at 7 p.m. to have Rana Slosberg, of Slosberg College Solutions, explain just how you can make college more affordable.  Slosberg offers ideas on increasing funds, decreasing costs and where to find merit aid. Register online or call 908-754-5554,  ext. 59, if you need more information. Unlike college, this program is free.

You Need To Know Your Style: Women Connection will be hosting an inaugural event at 7:30 p.m., featuring a wine and cheese reception and personal stylist Tracey Sloan, who will share ideas on how to refresh your wardrobe and develop a personal style, just in time for spring.
