Creativity Has No Bounds: Matheny Arts Access Program Exhibit Through June 27 In Somerville

Press release:

SOMERVILLE – Freeholder Patricia Walsh, Cultural & Heritage Commission liaison, invites residents to enjoy the works of the Matheny Arts Access Program through June 27 in theSomerset County Cultural & Heritage Gallery, located at the county administration building, 20 Grove St., Somerville, N.J. 08876.  The gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.

The Matheny Arts Access Program, founded in 1993 by the Matheny Medical and Educational Center, arose from the need to help individuals with disabilities have freedom to develop their creative talents, and have their work recognized and shared with the community at large.  The mission of the Arts Access Program is to enable people with disabilities to access, experience, create and participate in the fine arts.

The Matheny Arts Access Program continues to empower artists with disabilities and provide them with opportunities for creative self-expression.  Artists that utilize the Arts Access Program’s unique methodology are able to pursue their creative passions and define themselves by their artistic achievements and not by their disabilities.
