Registration for second round of township-sponsored lessons ends today.

You Need To Know Read Aloud Month: Warren Township Library is recognizing parents who take a few moments to read out loud with their kids (and kids who do the same) this month with the Read Aloud Month. If you haven't already signed up to participate, head to the library to do so soon: one lucky family will win prizes at month's end, and each week, the library will be honoring one family (the first weekly winners will be picked today).

You Need To Know Star Training: Future rock 'n rollers can get an early start with the music lessons the township recreation commission is helping organize—kids between 4 and 11 years can get started on guitar or keyboards in the six-week lessons offered at The next session starts March 15, but today is the last day to register: go to the township website, or stop by the Recreation Commission office at the municipal complex.

You Need To Know Filling Spots: When the Warren Township Board of Education meets tonight at the district administrative offices, members will interview candidates and appoint a new member to fill the extended-unexpired term of Pat Toubin (to the end of the year because of the move to November elections), who stepped down last month.

You Need To Know Maureen Dowd: Few can turn a phrase quite like the Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist, and if you'd like to hear her turn a few, get tickets for tonight's engagement at Temple Har Shalom at 8 p.m. Dowd was named the temple's Carol Cohen Davis Lectureship, an annual event aimed at helping to "educate the community about issues affecting women in today's world and inspire them to take action and bring about change."
