Township Ready for Annual Bonfire

Saturday's Yuletide Bonfire promises lots of family fun.

You Need To Know Preschool Programs: Parents of three- and four-year-olds should check out the Warren Township School District's preschool program, open to students with and students without special needs. The program is aimed at getting kids used to working together, as well as preparing them for kindergarten. Head to the open house the district is hosting today at 11 a.m. at Mt Horeb School and learn more about the program.

You Need To Know About The Autism Center's Open House: And speaking of open houses and children with special needs, Warren's innovative new center for treating medically-fragile children with autism, the Comprehensive Autism Medical Assessment and Treatment Center will host an open house beginning at 7 p.m. The event will include the usual grand opening events—Mayor Carolann Garafola cutting the ribbon, area politicians shaking hands, stuff like that—but will include many of the people providing the center's varied and thorough treatment programs for the kids. If you know anyone with an autistic child, be sure to let them know about the event.

You Need To Know Wrestling Quad Meet: After a lopsided display of talent Wednesday, the Watchung Hills Regional wrestling team will host a four-school quad meet, with Hillsborough, North Hunterdon and Franklin, who edged the Warriors for second place in the county meet last week. If you want to understand why the team is so popular, come to the quad meet and witness some terrific athletes. The matches start at 9 a.m.

Airy Road or 665 Martinsville Road in Basking Ridge, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday during the open house.

Visit the open house at Meadowbrook Day Camp, at 73 E Valley Brook Road in Long Valley, at 11 a.m. to learn about the camp's summer offerings.

You Need To Know Big Fires Under Control: The biggest fire you'll see this year (we certainly hope!) will be at Saturday's Yuletide Bonfire, held in the park and ball fields behind the municipal complex. Barring rain, in which case we'll do it next week, the event will have loads of fun for the whole family starting at 6 p.m. Come out and enjoy the fun—stop by the Patch table and relieve us of some marketing items.
