Make Clothing Purchases Count at 'Resale Therapy' Event

Proceeds from Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church event going to educate children around the world.

You Need To Know Shopper's Delight: Grab your wallet and head to the "Resale Therapy" benefit event to raise money for girls' education programs, set for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, 45 Church St. in Basking Ridge. The benefit sale has hundreds of donated used-but-only-barely clothes (including formalwear), shoes and accessories available for sale (cash only, thank you). Items are priced from $1 to $100, and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Central NJ Chapter of Room to Read. 

You Need To Know Cashing In Your Chips: You don't have to be The Gambler to know you've got a winning hand at tonight's Central School PTO Casino Night at Forest Lodge from 7:30 pm. to 11:30 p.m. tonight—every bet is a benefit for classroom projects. There will be prizes, a buffet dinner, tricky tray and silent auctions, and more—contact Cheryl Miller (908-647-5553) for reservations or more information. Here's a good bet: take advantage of the childcare available, and enjoy the night a little longer.

You Need To Know Butterflies Among The Books: With this week's weather, it can't be long before butterflies will fill the gardens—but if you'd like to see some now and learn more about butterflies, get over to the Long Hill Library, at 917 Valley Road in Gillette, at 1 p.m. Saturday, where butterfly expert Rick Mikula discuss the colorful creatures and how to use recycled items to raise butterflies. Mikula will bring live specimens of various butterflies, too, so you learn to identify your favorites.

You Need To Know Better Pitches: Young ball players, whether baseball or softball, can improve their thows at Saturday's pitching clinics, sponsored by Warren Baseball Softball Inc.
