Five Things to Take Care of Today

It's Friday—end your week by wrapping up these details.

At week's end, we're often so focused on the days ahead that deadlines and missed opportunities can slip by. To help keep you from missing out, here are a few looming deadlines you don't want to miss:

You Need To Know About Hoop-shooting NFLers: You can get tickets at the door, but there is a deadline organizers are trying to meet for the event: 175 tickets must be presold for the matchups against NFL players tonight and Saturday night by noon. If you haven't already reserved yours, you can help this fun fundraiser benefitting the All Student Council at Watchung Hills Regional by purchasing your $15 tickets at www.whhsgamenight.eventzilla.net.

You Need To Know About Easter Egg Hunts: Got kids under 11 years of age? If so, be sure to sign them up for the township's fourth annual Easter Egg Hunt and (just as importantly!) Bike and Wagon Parade, set for April 7 at the municipal complex. You'll want to get registered as soon as possible to be assured of a good spot in line on the parade...

You Need To Know About Junior High School Musicals: Or "High School Musical Jr.," being staged at Warren Middle School by an amazing cast of young thespians. Tonight's 7 p.m. performance is the last—odds are it's sold out, but you can check with the school, just in case.

You Need To Know About Sports For Special Needs Athletes: Special needs children are enjoying a greater number of opportunities, and the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Association will be adding another this fall, with football and cheerleading programs specially suited for special needs children up to 16 years of age. The program will be led by trained coordinators and coaches, with non-competitive games designed to teach sportsmanship, teamwork and spirit. Download the registration form in the pdf section to register. For more informaiton, check the Watchung Hills Pop Warner website.

You Need To Know About Sustainable Food Supplies: Register today to attend Wednesday's special showing of the documentary "Food, Inc." and the ensuing discussion of sustainable agroculture and food production. The event is being sponsored by a host of local municipal Green Team groups and the Recreation Commission, as well as Watchung Hills Regional's Environmental Club. The show is free, but there is limited seating in the Susie B. Boyce Meeting room, so email Ila Gillenwater at irgillenwater@hotmail.com to have one saved for you.
