Getting to Know Warren's Nobel Winner

High school board will recognize Adam Riess, Class of 1988.

You Need To Know School Policies: If you volunteer in Warren classrooms or work around the district's students, you'll want to fully understand the new requirements of the district's Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying policy. District Anti-Bullying Coordinator Faye Brady will lead a presentation at 8:45 a.m. in the board offices conference room covering the fundamentals of the policy and how it is applied.

You Need To Know Varsity Tennis: The Watchung Hills girls tennis team will be in action this afternoon against the Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers. 

You Need To Know Teachers' Rally: The Warren Township Education Association members will be gathering at the township Board of Education offices at 6 p.m. in a rally protesting the lack of progress on their negotiations with the board on a new contract (the association's 341 members have been working under the terms of a contract that expired in June 2010).

You Need To Know Nobel Prize Winners: When the Watchung Hills Regional Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. in the high school's library, Principal Thomas DiGanci will present a tribute to one of the school's better known alums: Adam Riess. If you'd like to know more about this year's co-recipient of the Nobel Prize for physics, be sure to attend the meeting. 

You Need To Know Your Family Tree: If you'd like to know more about your family, there are many resources available to you at the Warren Township Library. Learn how to access websites, periodicals and other useful sources for tracing family histories at a special two-part presentation at the library 7 p.m. New Jersey State Archives Reference Archivist Catherine Stearns Medich will also discuss databases the archives has been developing.
