Lots happening in the schools this week, too.

Tuesdays are busy days for Warren charitable groups—if you're looking to get involved in the township, check out the Watchung-Warren Rotary Club, which meets at noon at Rolf's, or the the local Elks, meeting at 8 p.m. at the lodge. You can do a lot to help others in town by getting involved in these fine groups.

You Need To Know About Testing in Schools: Fourth-graders are taking the NJASK tests today, while students at Watchung Hills Regional High School are taking placement tests to qualify for AP classes this week. Feed them well in the morning.

You Need To Know About Varsity Sports: Watchung Hills Regional student athletes will be fighting for school glory in baseball, softball, lacrosse and golf matches today, while the track team competes in the Somerset County track match.

You Need To Know How to Maximize Retirement Savings: Kevin Lynch, president of the Somerset County Chapter of the Society for Financial Awareness, will discuss  factors to consider when applying for Social Security benefits and how to coordinate your various plans at a seminar at 6:30 p.m. at the Warrenbrook Senior Center. The program is free and open to everyone, although intended to those "Baby Boomers" among us. Seating is limited, too—call 908-753-9440 to reserve yours.

You Need To Know The State of Environmental Progress: Ever wonder what you could or should do to help protect the environment? Peter Spagnoli, from the Environmental Advantage, will lead a presentation on the environment and present a summary of everyday things one can do to live in a more environmentally friendly manner at 6:30 p.m. at the Warren Township Library

You Need To Know The Board of Education Reorganizes: The Warren Township Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. at the board offices for its annual reorganization meeting. The board members will set their meeting schedule for the next year, install new members Tia Allocco and John De Bellis, renew Mildred Spiller's status as a board member, and elect officers for the coming year.
