Yuletide Bonfire Adds Carousel This Year

Township's event increases amount of activities to do.

Warren's fifth annual Yuletide Bonfire Festival, set for Jan. 19, promises to offer the programs residents have come to enjoy at the event—music, marshmallow roasting, ice skating (weather permitting) and one great big bonfire.

The event is sponsored by the Recreation Commission, and will feature opening ceremonies led by Warren Boy, Girl and Cub Scouts. Carriage rides, pulled by Clydesdale horse, will be offered again, and hot food and refreshments will be available.

New this year will be a carousel ride, with music.

Also helping sponsor the event will be the Warren Lion's Club, Warren Rescue Squad, Warren Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Club and Warren fire companies.

The fun starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. at the municipal ballfields, off Bardy Road behind the municipal complex. In the event of bad weather (not cold—bad), the bonfire will be rescheduled for Jan. 26.

You can also help by contributing your Christmas tree after the holidays—bring trees to the DPW lot, where they will be collected for the bonfire.
