Menorah Lighting Launches Holiday Celebrations

Stop by for special celebration.

You Need To Know Menorah lighting: The Chabad Jewish Center of Somerset County will host an event at Flag Plaza tonight at 6 p.m., with music and refreshments, as the center ligts the first light on the large menorah to celebrate the first night of Hannukah. Come join the celebration.

You Need To Know Youth Sports: In the mood to watch a fun basketball game? The Watchung Hills Regional girls basketball team will host Ridge at 7 p.m.—but you can also enjoy the middle school's boys team as they play Branchburg at the school at 4 p.m. Or come out and watch the high school fencing team take on Voorhees High School at 4 p.m.

You Need To Know Township Meetings: The Environmental Commission will meet at 8 p.m. in the Susie B. Boyce meeting room to review pending development applications.

You Need To Know Helpful Students: Every week, a group of students from Watchung Hills Regional visits veterans at Lyons VA Hospital and patients at the Children's Specialized hospital in Mountainside. The special volunteers do a lot ore, too, and are part of the school's Interact Club, which will be meeting after school today.

You Need To Know It's Report Card Time: We're not suggesting it's more than a coincidence that Warren kindergarten through third-grade students will receive thier report cards today—mere days before Christmas—but it sure could put a crimp in any expectations less studious students might have.
