"It doesn't matter whether it's good or bad, it just has to be a real review," said Antonette D'Orazio, Head of Youth Services at the library. "They can't just write that they liked it."
One seventh-grader clearly didn't like the book "Zlata's Diary," written by Zlata Filipovic, who was a young girl living in Sarajevo while it was under siege in 1992.

Well, at least the student got some free cookies for the effort.
Another seventh-grader had a better book choice with "Deep and Dark and Dangerous," Mary Downing Hahn's modern-day ghost story with a teen-aged main character. "I really wanted to read every chapter to find what happens next," the student wrote.
When teens have finished their reviews and read what others have written, they can still sign up for the Teen program for sixth- through 12th-grades. Each registrant's name will be put in a raffle jar for a chance to win a Nintendo Wii, provided by the Friends of the Somerset County Library System.
Teen Summer Reader participants have the opportunity to win other prizes, made possible by the Friends of the Warren Library, including gift cards for Amazon.com and iTunes. The more books read, the more chances to win.
The Summer Reading Club ends on Sept. 6 and winners for the various prizes will be chosen that day. For more information, stop by the Teen Services Desk or call the library at 908-754-5554, ext. 59.
