Popular Warren Car Show Returns Sunday

Growing event becomes one of the premiere shows for cars, motorcycles, military vehicles and more.

The annual Warren Car Show, which is growing into one of the largest premiere vehicle shows in the region, returns on Sunday to the Warren Township (Somerset County) municipal grounds on Mountain Boulevard in the township.

This event, organized by the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department, last year attracted more than 400 vehicles.

The line up for those who love metal included classic American and import cars, motorcycles, trucks, fire trucks, and military vehicles, and also nearly 80 vintage race cars in attendance.

The professionally judged show, featured in multiple national racing magazines, also attracts many race car drivers and has become somewhat of an informal reunion for them.

Full day event

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8.

At 1 p.m., the drivers all start their engines simultaneously for the traditional "gentlemen (and ladies), start your engines."

Entertainment is provided annually by the ever popular DJ, "The Golden Gup", and food vendors will over refreshments. A vintage Good Humor ice cream truck selling frozen treats adds to the fun.

Admission and parking is free for all spectators, and registration for show vehicles is just $15 if pre-registered by Sept. 1, or $20 after that date and at the gate.

Registration for show vehicles opens at 6 a.m. and includes an event shirt, continental breakfast, and dash plaque for the first 400 registrations. All profits will go to the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The event is held rain or shine. For further information or for a registration form for show vehicles, please contact Allen Rosenberg, 732-742-4642, at bigalnj@aol.com.
