Signup Today For Spring Play

It's not too late to sign kids up for spring and fall sports.

Warren offers great support for kids in sports, and several groups are accepting registrations for seasons this spring, and in the fall. Check the out and join—and think about volunteering as a oach, if you don't have any kids. It's a great way to stay healthy, while helping your community.

You Need To Know The High School PTO Is Meeting: The meeting was scheduled for last Thursday, but was rescheduled because of the rain and flooding. Head to the high school media center at 6 p.m. tonight for the meeting, where you can learn more about the proposed $34.6 million 2011-2012 WHRHS budget, with Superintendent Francis Stromsland and Business Administrator Timothy Stys on hand to answer questions.

You Need To Know The WHRHS Chess Team Is Back At The Library: Kids 6 and older are honing their chess skills with the high school team, one of the best in New Jersey, at the weekly classes at Warren Township Library from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Stop by with your youngster, watch, and learn.

You Need To Know Rec Lacrosse Signups Are Underway: The spring season will be starting soon, so head to The Hills Lacrosse Club for signup information. (P.S.: the high school lacrosse teams play today, also. Catch the mens varsity game at 4 p.m.).

You Need To Know Football and Cheerleading Signups Are Underway, Too: The fall season isn't so close, but it's also not so far away! Both the Watchung Hills Pop Warner and Junior Warriors programs have ongoing registration, so sign up now.

You Need To Know About Wednesday's Basketball Clinics: Basketball takes the kind of eye-hand co-ordination first- and second-graders can develop with a bit of practice—and good coaching. To help next year's players prepare, the Warren Youth Basketball Association is offering weekly clinics for young hoopsters. The clinics are at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for first-graders, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for second-graders, Wednesday nights at Central School.
