Softball Standout Seeks Spot on Elite Team [VIDEO]

Gianna Aprile is ready for prestigious team—but needs sponsors to meet requirements.

13-year-old Gianna Aprile has set some high goals for herself: even though a high-performing student at Warren Middle School, she already preparing to take her SATs. She's aiming to attend Johns Hopkins University, and plans on a legal career.

An invitation to join the prestigious Jersey Intensity 14U Elite Junior Olympic travel team could be the perfect springboard for her ambitions—but first she'll have to meet the team's financial tough requirements.

Gianna is already working to meet her obligation: she's tutoring other students from second to eighth grades in all subjects, but her ability to participate will depend on finding sponsors to help with costs of travel and coaching.

"With this team also comes a very heavy expense that is simply beyond our reach," Gianna's father, Michael, said. "As parents, we want the best for our children and do what ever it takes to help them be the best they can be."

The team encourages players to find sponsors, and provides spots on the Jersey Intensity website for business sponsors. Donations can be sent to Gianna at 54 Mountain Ave., Warren NJ 07059 (Checks should be made out to "Jersey Intensity," with Gianna's name in the memo line).

"Her hard work and dedication speaks for its self and hopefully will result in making a difference in other kids' future one day when it Is her turn to give back," Michael Aprile said. "As parents, we couldn't be possibly any prouder of the achievements she has already made at such a young age. We hope others...can appreciate her dedication and help us help her reach all of her goals."

Correction* Gianna is only taking her SAT's through John Hopkins Center For Talented Youth. The schools Gianna has in her sight include Hofstra, Ball State, Notre Dame to name a few.
