Survival Guide for the Week Be'twixt Christmas and New Year's

While schools are out and many offices closed, there's still lots to do.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is a quiet one, with many people taking days off for vacation, schools closed and many offices shuttered, as well.

So we'll be featuring some non-event 5 Things You Need to Know columns this week—after today, of course.

You Need To Know Library Games: Break up the week's doldrums with the library's open game sessions, where kids can enjoy playing their board games. Feel free to stop in and join the fun anytime this week—or come by in the afternoon, when the library will show feature films, including "Cars II" and "Kung Fu Panda II," today through Thursday.

You Need To Know Wrestling Tournaments: School may be out, but the wrestlers at Watchung Hills Regional take that to mean more time for tournaments. They'll be at Middletown for the Water Woods Tournament Wednesday, and at t. Augustine's in Kendall Park for a tournament Friday.
