Warren's hills will be alive with music this weekend.

Is anyone keeping count of the flash flooding warning issued this month by the National Weather Service? With another warning in effect for today, it must some kind of weather-related record. Watch for occasional periods of heavy rain, and the resulting pools of standing water or flooding. 

You Need To Know Jewish Holidays: Today marks 1 Tishrei, the first day of the Jewish new year. It's also the first holiday for the new school year—schools are closed. Mazel Tov!

You Need To Know Storytime: Restless toddlers will enjoy the stories at the Storytime class at 10 a.m. You do need to be registered for the class—go online or call 754-5554.

You Need To Know Your Musical Options: Live music in Warren starts tonight, with jazz at Uproot by Robbie Scott, Herb Gardner (piano) and Joe Licari (clarinet), and Jon and Mike at the Tap Room (they start at 6 p.m., so go early). Friday, you can choose from the Warren Vache Trio at Uproot, rock and roll by Exit 135 at Rolf's or Remedy (who played at Rolf's a couple of weeks ago) at the Tap Room. Party of Five closes out the weekend Saturday night at the Tap Room, while The Lew Gatewood Blues Band handles the crowd at Rolf's, and Uproot swings with Barbara Rosene, with guitarist Ray Machiarolo and Boots Malestrom. Enjoy your weekend more—get out and listen to some live music.
