Time to Reorganize the Township ... Committee

Appointments, schedules and more on tap—along with the addition of two new members.

You Need To Know Township Reorganization: The annual reorganization meeting of the Township Committee will begin at 6 p.m. at the municipal complex. First item of business: swearing-in new Committeemen George Lazo and Michael Marion. Second item: pick a mayor (odds-on favorite is Carolann Garafola).

You Need To Know School Boards: The Watchung Hills Regional Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. During the meeting, the board will review the mid-year report on the new harassment, intimidation and bullying procedures.

You Need To Know Environmental Education: The Environmental Education Center at Lord Stirling Park will host two programs of interest for children at 4 p.m. The "Mega Mammals" program for 4-6 year olds will learn about bears with crafts and fun projects; kids 7-9 will want to check out the Captivating Critters program, where they will see a red rump tarantula and Madagascar hissing cockroaches—what fun!
