Uproot to Host Benefit for Autism Speaks

Guest Chef Teddy DeVico will prepare special four-course meal.

A limited number of diners will enjoy a special night out Nov. 15, when guest chef Teddy DeVico takes over the kitchen at Uproot Restaurant in a fundraising event for Austism Speaks.

Teddy, a student at Watchung Hills Regional, will prepare the night's menu, which will feature Taro root-encrusted salmon, with pickled shitake mushrooms and Sunchoke puree, and a roasted duck breast, with seared Brussels sprouts, pears and Brussels salad.

The meal starts with roasted and raw heirloom beets, seved with orange, goat cheese and crispy parsnips, and will be capped with a caramelized white chocolate cake, with bitter sweet chocolate crumbs and coconut ice-cream.

All food for the night has been donated by the restaurant's suppliers and local farms.
