Woodland PTO Tries Holiday Event for Fundraising

Tracy Mazure-Lefkowitz knows a bit about the needs of home-based and vendor businesses: her Beadalicious business, like other similar businesses, can always use a new venue to meet customers.

So when she suggested to Woodland School that a vendor fair in December could be successful, the school's PTO latched onto the idea and set Saturday's PTO Holiday Bazaar fundraiser.

"We are hoping for a big turn-out—we always have a lot of support from the parents in the school," Mazure-Lefkowitz said.

With more than 30 vendors participating—from Aerosoles Shoes to Zigarelli Chocolates—it's sure to draw some crowds. Mazure-Lefkowitz said the project didn't begin as a fundraiser for the PTO, but when she offered to organize it, the gorup jumped onboard.

Other vendors include At Home America, Beadalicious Designs, Cancer Stinks, Chic Basics, Comic Cafe, Creative Memories, Dana's Closet, Dice Football League, Discovery Toys, Heritage Collectibles, Hodgepodge Unique Gifts, I Cannoli Bake Biscotti, Just the Right Piece, Made with Clay, Mangia Feast, Mary Kay, Match Point Stationery, Nuray's Cafe, Oh Dear Art, Rizazz Fashions, Sawdusts of Hiawatha, Scentsy, Seashore Treasures 4U, Silkworm Interiors, Silpada, Stella & Dot, Tastefully Done Confections, Tastefully Simple, Thirty-One Gifts, Thoughts to Thread, Unique Boutique, and Usborne Books.

In addition to the shopping opportunities, there will be entertainment and activities for kids, a cake walk, gift wrapping and food. Baskets filled with items donated by the vendors will be raffled, also.
