Award-winning Classical Guitarist Performs in Summit

The New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra, under the direction of Joe Gluck, will present a Spring Concert at Summit High School, 124 Kent Place Boulevard, in Summit, NJ.

The concert is free to the public and will premier, Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra, written by 17-time ASCAP award-winning composer, Victor Kioulaphides. Guitar virtuoso and solo guest artist, Christopher Kenniff, a Summit resident, will perform the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra with the NJIO Symphony.

The concert includes works by Vivaldi, Gounod and Stravinsky plus, on-stage interviews with the composer and solo guest artist. After the concert, the audience can meet and greet composer, Victor Kioulaphides, and Christopher Kenniff, who will have his CDs available for purchase.

One of America’s unique ensembles, NJIO is composed of more than 100 musicians who have ranged in age from 6 to 93. Founded in 1994, NJIO has performed at the World Conference on Aging in Madrid, Spain; the United Nations; the New York Lincoln Center fountain plaza; and the Generations United Conference in Washington, D. C. NJIO has been featured on CBS, NBC, in the New York Times, Family Circle, American Profiles, Savy Living, and the New Jersey Star-Ledger.

Delicious desserts and beverages will be sold during intermission. Children of all ages, parents and grandparents will enjoy this Sunday matinee concert. Please arrive early for parking, wheel-chair access and seating. Donations will be graciously accepted at the door.

NJIO produces three, free concerts each year to provide appreciation of classical music throughout neighborhood communities in north central New Jersey. NJIO is a non-profit organization known for - Bridging the generations through musicwhere intergenerational musicians of all ages and skill levels come together to experience the joy of making music. Professional musicians work alongside members as mentors, enabling NJIO to blend a high vision of artistic excellence with strong educational components in a non-competitive musically challenging atmosphere.
