Watchung Hills Starts Wednesday—Nearly a Week Before Warren Schools

Warren Township has a different start date than the regional high school for students this year.

If you're a student in Warren Township Schools, and you have a big brother or sister at Watchung Hills High School, you can kick back for another couple of days of summer this September.

While school staff is due to report to the kindergarten through grade 8 in Warren Township on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first scheduled day of school for all students is next Monday, Sept. 9.

Meanwhile, Watchung Hills Regional High School has one of the earliest first days of school in the area — this Wednesday.

Freshman orientation at Watchung Hills is scheduled for Tuesday from noon to 2:30 p.m. — and all students at the high school are due to report at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

However, Watchung Hills students attending that first day of the new school year are set to be dismissed at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday.

The regional high school district is scheduled to be closed on Thursday for the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

Then, the high students are required to report back for their first full day of the 2013-14 school year on this Friday.
