Cure for Cancer Drives Fundraising Campaign

Friends are behind two guys and a dream to turn a pink Cadillac into an engine for good.

Rouz Rashidbaigi, 34, of Harding is raising money for a cure for cancer with a round-trip drive across the country.

The owner of a landscaping company has created a campaign on GoFundMe to pay the $4,000 cost of wrapping his 2003 Cadillac CTS Coupe in a satin chrome pink vinyl with the logo "Driving for a Cure" across the side.

Rashidbaigi, whose friends and families have been affected by cancer, plans to sell bracelets, magnets and t-shirts and run raffles along the way. He said he will donate the proceeds to the creating a website and an official 501(c)3 organization to benefit charities like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Young Survival Coalition

"People love cars," said Rashidbaigi, who plans to go to car rallies and car shows. "When the car is done it'll stand out. People will want to take a picture of it. It's something never done before. So I'm willing to try it."

He will be accompanied by a friend, Eric Birch, of Bergen County. In their photo, Rouz Rashidbaigi is at left, and Eric Birch is on the right.
