In preparation for the upcoming flu season, the Stop & Shop Supermarket in nearby Watchung is offering flu vaccinations at its in-store pharmacy. No appointment is needed and vaccinations are provided by Stop & Shop’s pharmacists any time the pharmacy is open.
“Our pharmacists provide our customers with a robust health and wellness experience, make an effort to acknowledge and counsel them on all new therapy and therapy changes and communicate the value we provide”, said Anthony Ponzio, director of pharmacy for the Stop & Shop New York Metro Division, which includes New Jersey.
The cost for the flu shot is $25 in Garden State its locations stores and the chain says most major insurance plans along with Medicare are accepted. Stop & Shop has also partnered with various vendors to offer a free coupon book worth more than $40 in savings to promote better living, while supplies last, to all customers who receive a flu shot. In addition, Stop & Shop pharmacists are available to provide on-site flu clinics at workplaces and businesses throughout the community. The company says it is taking steps to ensure its pharmacies and health departments are well stocked to handle flu-related prescriptions and over-the-counter medications throughout the fall and winter seasons. Additionally, Stop & Shop pharmacists offer several “no appointment needed” adult vaccinations including those for pneumonia and shingles.
