Chimney Rock Annual 'Retro' Celebration Planned

Event postponed due to Sandy, to be held Monday at Gillette and Bridgewater locations.

Chimney Rock Inn has been part of the Central Jersey diet for more than 100 years. Once a year they roll back the price of a large plain thin crust pizza to $1.95 in commemoration of their anniversaries at both the Bridgewater and the Gillette locations.

This year marks the 18th year in Bridgewater and its eighth year in Gillette.

The celebration was scheduled originally on Oct. 29, but Hurricane Sandy put a damper on that. The rescheduled date is Monday—Jan. 14.

The restaurants will also be extending their hours that day, to 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for the celebration.

“We will have thousands of pizzas ready for the big day, Monday, Jan. 14th,” manager Winfield Chasmar said. “Let’s get retro with $1.95 pizza. It’s our way to let everyone know how much we appreciate them.”

There is a limit of two pizzas for every four patrons at each table, toppings extra, and the price is only good for eat-in customers.
