Mall Store Opening to Include Giveaways, Taiko Drumming, More

UNIQLO at Bridgewater Commons looks to build excitement with special event and special pricing.

By John Patten

Bridgewater Commons will welcome UNIQLO at 10 a.m. Friday, when the store opens with plenty of fanfare and free tote bags given to days' first shoppers through the weekend.

The Japan-based company is known for its value-oriented fashions and marks the opening of new stores with performances by traditional Japanese Taiko drummers—but suiting the company's hipper take on tradition, the drummers will be joined by DJs.

The store will also be giving out premiums with purchases, such as a free Heattech item with a purchase of $50 or more, as well as special pricing on merchandise (the company is touting its men's and women's flannel long-sleeve shirts for $19.90; Ultra Light Down outerwear for $49.90; and women’s cashmere sweaters for $49.90).

More information about UNIQO and a chance to win a shopping spree is available on the company website
