New Warren Chamber of Commerce Looks Ahead to More Events in 2014

Next meeting scheduled for Jan. 23.

The Warren Township Chamber of Commerce, which just got off the ground in late September, already revived the township Holiday Walk in December.

For next year, the new chamber — which already has about 20 members — is looking ahead to more fully planning the next Holiday Walk, and to being involved with more events during 2014, said chamber chairman Evan Tornquist.

Tornquist said that area business people do not need to be a chamber member to attend meetings.

He said the next meeting is scheduled to begin with networking at 8 a.m. at the Warren courtroom at the municipal complex at 46 Mountain Blvd.

Breakfast will be served, and the official meeting is scheduled to be conducted from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., he said.

The chamber also is looking to partner with other organizations and perhaps the township recreation department to become involved with other events throughout the area.

The chamber's focus always will remain on promoting Warren businesses, he said. However, he added that businesses from the surrounding area are welcome to join. The chamber — which replace the Warren Township Business Partnership, which disbanded a few years ago — is under the umbrella of the The Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce, Tornquist said.

Members in the new chamber were planning to meet soon to look into the year ahead.
