The Ryder Cup is one of the world’s most popular sporting events, and the pre-eminent international team event in golf, as America’s best professional golfers take on Europe’s premier players every two years for the game’s ultimate team prize.
Mastro Communications, a Warren-based golf and sports marketing firm recently planned and executed the U.S. Ryder Cup Captain’s Picks news conference, with professional golfer and 2012 United States Ryder Cup Captain, Davis Love III selecting PGA Tour stars Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk, Brandt Snedeker and Steve Stricker to complete the 12-man U.S. Ryder Cup team.
The Captain’s picks will join Tiger Woods, Phil Mickleson and the rest of the U.S. Team, as they attempt to re-claim the famed Ryder Cup against Team Europe, from September 28-30, at Medinah Country Club in Illinois. The New York City event was highlighted by the Captain’s Picks being announced live on the NASDAQ MarketSite Tower in Times Square for the world to see, and to build excitement prior to the upcoming Ryder Cup, one of the world’s most popular team sporting events. The activities culminated with Davis Love III, surrounded by officials of the PGA of America, closing the market and ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ.
