Warren Engineering Group Goes Global

Paulus, Sokolowski & Sartor inks deal with French contractors to build overseas offices.

Paulus, Sokolowski & Sartor has partnered with GSE Group, the respected French design and build firm, to open offices in China, Brazil, Dubai, and other non-U.S. locales, the companies announced.

PS&S is based in Warren, with offices at 67 Mountain Boulevard Extension.

The PS&S/GSE partnership will better serve existing clients who are developing multi-million dollar projects outside of the United States, providing clients with greater efficiencies and local, on-the-ground support.

“Our clients continue to expand overseas and they’ve told us there is increasing pressure on their U.S. based project managers to build facilities in the emerging markets,” said Anthony Sartor, PS&S chairman and chief executive officer. “This partnership, coupled with our state-of-the-art technology, will help remove some of the guesswork clients experience by having U.S. based project managers develop projects overseas. It establishes a framework where we can develop design packages anywhere in the world depending on where the stakeholders are located. And now with GSE’s expertise in local markets, we are able to seamlessly provide turn-key design and build services there.”

The new partnership will benefit the U.S. based Biopharmaceutical and Fortune 500 clients of PS&S that are seeking expansion overseas. PS&S and GSE are currently collaborating on a turn-key project in China and gearing up for another in Europe.

“GSE, which has had more than $100 million in contracts in 2012, is now the first French construction company in the Chinese market,” said Robert De Marchi, General Manager of GSE China. “Our strategy in the coming years is to reinforce this position, considering that the development of the Chinese market brings huge opportunities for companies providing Design & Build solutions. The cooperation between PS&S and GSE is fully in line with this strategy and will help us to offer more competencies and extend services to our common clients. We believe the combination of our resources will be very successful.”

“The ability to follow our customers wherever the location worldwide, and to offer the same Design and Build commitment, based on engineering services and local regulation codes, is a smart business model,” confirmed Jean Marie Reinwalt, GSE’s Business Development Director. “Working on new projects with U.S. based customers, and offering to them the same D&B services, based on PS&S experiences and local knowledge, will help us to develop future Life Science projects, one of the mainstays of both organizations.”

“We will continue providing and managing design packages for projects in places like China, Brazil, Mexico and Germany without having to leave New Jersey,” said Emad Youssef, PS&S senior vice president, who has been assisting the firm’s pharmaceutical clients for more than 25 years. “But now, we will have a valuable local partner in every locale. Every one of our clients is asking us to limit travel and lodging costs as much as possible. Our alliance with GSE will give us the local support needed to continue on our path of efficiently designing and building overseas. But for those clients who request it,

we also have the flexibility to put our PS&S subject leaders on site, side-by-side with the local GSE liaison. ”
