BRIDGEWATER, NJ – The Somerset County Business Partnership is inviting members of the Somerset County business community to meet with Congressman Leonard Lance, New Jersey District 7, for an intimate and informative Congressional Roundtable and Washington Briefing.

The morning session is scheduled for Friday, March 7, 2014 from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the offices of Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus, 721 U.S. Highway 202/206 in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Congressman Lance has reached out to the Business Partnership membership with a request to provide a briefing on the national issues with the potential to impact businesses in Somerset County including the Affordable Care Act, corporate tax reform, and immigration reform as it relates to businesses in the area. The Congressman specifically asked for input from the Somerset County business community.
The morning session will begin with a networking session among business and political leaders.
“Direct access to political leaders such as Rep. Lance provides the Somerset County business community with a unique opportunity,” commented Chris Stevenson, chair of the Partnership Legislative Committee. “Inside the Beltway knowledge, gained in our own backyard, is a valuable business tool to facilitate business planning, growth, and resiliency,” concluded Stevenson.
Congressman Lance was elected to the United States House of Representatives in November of 2008 and reelected to his third term on November 6, 2012 . He represents the 7th Congressional District that includes all of Hunterdon County and parts of Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union and Warren counties.
Lance serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, playing a significant role in protecting and growing jobs in New Jersey’s energy, life sciences, and telecommunication sectors.
Prior to being elected to Congress, Lance served as a member of the New Jersey State Senate beginning in 2002, representing the 23rd Legislative District. He held the position of Minority Leader of the Senate from 2004 to 2008.
