“Go Green on the Green” is an early evening of fun and networking with like-minded business people who seek to advance sustainability among their colleagues. Guests will be invited to participate in “On the Tee,” an interactive game that will help identify methods of enhancing sustainability. Cocktails, hors d’oeurves, and desserts will be served.

“On the Tee” will feature a creative and entertaining interactive 9-table “course,” with each stop showcasing innovative approaches to sustainability.  As guests move from table to table they will learn through others experience by being exposed to sustainable best practices that have successfully been implemented by business across Somerset County.

Reservations for “Go Green on the Green” are $30 per person for Green Challenge participants; $35 for Business Partnership members; and $50 for non-members. Sponsorship is available at a number of levels. Preregistration is requested and may be made online at web.scbp.org/events. For information contact Takeena Deas at 908-218-4300.

The 2013-2014  “Green Challenge” is a Business Partnership initiative to encourage businesses to employ practices that will preserve and protect the environment while improving a company’s bottom line and gaining public recognition for sustainability accomplishments. Companies involved in the “Green Challenge” have been provided the tools necessary to implement sustainable practices in day-to-day business operations. The “Green Challenge” helps operators of businesses identify opportunities to increase profitability with methods that improve energy efficiency and recycling efforts, conserve resources, and contribute to the wellbeing of the community at large.

Neshanic Valley was selected as the host location based on having received certification as a “River-Friendly” facility from the New Jersey Water Supply Authority, the 2011 Sustainable Business Award from the South Branch Watershed Association (SBWA), designation as an “Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by Audubon International, and earning the status as a “Groundwater Guardian Green Site” by The Groundwater Foundation. The Somerset County Park Commission facility is one of 4 “River-Friendly” courses in the county.
