Pingry To Offer Spring Tennis Clinics in Partnership with Mendham Tennis ClubCom.com at the Basking Ridge Campus

The Pingry School is pleased to announce plans today for a new sports offering under its Big Blue Enrichment banner to provide students with programs that complement the traditional school day experience.  Starting April 5, Pingry in partnership with the Mendham Tennis Club.Com, will be conducting a six-week Saturday tennis clinic at the Basking Ridge Campus for boys and girls ages Pre-K through middle school.  Players will receive weekly instruction from the Mendham Tennis Club.Com staff who are well seasoned in coaching top quality tennis from the novice youth all the way through competitive middle school tennis players.

Mendham Tennis Club.Com will offer a number of tennis clinic options for children addressing age, skill level and agility.  Clinic selections range from beginner players to the competitive tournament and team participant.  “Quick Start Tennis” geared at children ages 4 to 7, provides an introduction to the sport, reviews the fundamentals in a game format while enhancing hand-eye coordination and development of stronger motor skills.  “10 & Under” aimed at ages 8 to 10, addresses all aspects of tennis and stresses proper shot and hitting techniques.  Game and match play are introduced in fun activities and drills.  “Future Stars” targeted at ages 11 and up, reinforces the basis of all strokes, focuses on consistency and rallying ability along with preparing for match play and point-situated drills.  “Hot Shots” as determined by skill ability, introduces stroke styles, spin techniques and simulated matches that are played on a competitive level with targeted drills.  “Tournament Starter” is for those children who compete at a higher level and seeking training sessions to develop new techniques and strategies for future matches.
