Five Things to Know About Homecoming [VIDEO]

Join a great American tradition tonight at Watchung Hills Regional.

It's officially fall, and one traditions of the season is going to Homecoming at high school—head to Watchung Hills tonight at 7 p.m. to join the festivities.

You Need To Know The Homecoming Opponent: Tonight's game pits the Warriors against a 2-0 Westfield team. The Warriors have been gaining strength in recent weeks, but are 0-2 after losing by touchdowns at North Hunterdon and Union.

You Need To Know That May Change: The last time the teams played at Watchung Hills, the Warriors won decisively 21-7. That was in 2009.

You Need To Know It Will Easier To Keep Up With The Score: When the game starts, note the bright new LED lights on the scoreboard. The new lights should make it easier to see—and are saving a bunch of money for the district (we'll have a story about the new scoreboard lights and other energy- and money-saving efforts at the school).

You Need To Know What The Band Plays: For most fans, this will be the first chance to see the new program by the marching band and winterguard team. The groups have been working hard on the tricky synchronization but are ready to put on the halftime show (on the video, watch the groups as they began studying this year's program during band camp in August).

You Need To Know The Class of 1967 (and maybe '68) Is Joining: The Watchung Hills Regional Class of 1967 is holding a reunion Saturday and Sunday, but many members will join a dinner at the school at 5 p.m., then will head to the game. They've invited the Class of 1968 to join, too. Let's see if they still have their "Summer of Love" attire...
